Jakobus-Theater in the Theaterhaus
The Jakobus-Theater is a dedicated amateur theater that works with professional directors and has been in existence since 1972. Plays are performed in the Fabriktheater, an old municipal utility building at Kaiserallee 11, which is also home to the marotte Figurentheater and the Sandkorntheater.
Description
Since 1982, there has been a regular theater exchange with the "Lace Market Theatre" in Nottingham together with the theater "Die Käuze". The repertoire leaves little to be desired: Contemporary plays, modern classics, German classics, comedies, literary cabarets, readings, chanson and music evenings, children's and youth plays, guest performances and much more.
Three new productions are presented each year. Depending on the play, the theater seats 60 to 120 people. A total of around 100 performances are staged with an audience of more than 5,000.
